The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half-day Alumni are a vibrant addition to communities across the country and beyond. They have used their arts training to distinguish themselves in wide-ranging ways. In addition to attending college or entering professional training programs, many have received academic scholarships and local awards, including Trustee Scholarships, Presidential Scholarships, Dean Scholarships, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Scholarships, and the University of Hartford Artist of Promise Award. Professionally, our alums continue to make us proud with their successes and accolades, including 100 Men of Color Awardee; Anastasia National Tour; A Chorus Line National Tour; Producing Associate, TheaterWorks; Co-creators and co-producers of Moms: The Musical; Public art muralist; University of Hartford/Hartt School Jazz Faculty (piano); Western Connecticut State University Jazz Faculty (voice); and Clerk, Fairfax Virginia Circuit Court.
Each year, we invite alumni to come back to the Arts Academy and meet with students. Alumni talk about their arts and career experiences post-Academy. They show videos, answer questions, discuss artwork, and sometimes teach a master class.
