The CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half-Day Program provides high school students from the Capitol region and beyond with focused training in the arts. Students choose a major from six different arts disciplines: Dance, Music (instrumental or vocal), Musical Theater, Theater, Theater Design & Production, and Visual Arts. All classes are taught by professional Artist-Instructors.
The Arts Half-Day Program has received many awards, including being named “Best Arts Magnet School” by the Arts Schools Network and a “School of Distinction” by Magnet Schools of America. We are proud to have recently been awarded "Outstanding Arts School" by the Arts Schools Network.
