The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts is the winner of first runner up in the “Broadway Against Bullying” contest and will now have to travel to the Big Apple. Back in January, freshman and sophomores from the Academy’s musical theater department performed the charity single “I Have a Voice” for a video that was uploaded to contest’s YouTube account. The music and video was directed by musical theater faculty Mark Ceppetelli and Abigail Winkler.
People from all over watched and voted on their favorites. There were submissions from schools from around the country. The Academy has come in second only to Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School in Colorado.
As winner of 1st runner up, the Academy will have the opportunity to travel to New York City and attend events and workshops and will have the opportunity to meet with key names in Broadway.
