The CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half-Day Program provides high school students from the Capitol region and beyond with rigorous training in the arts. Students choose a major from six different arts disciplines: Dance, Music (instrumental or vocal), Musical Theater, Theater, Design & Theatre Production, and Visual Arts. All classes are taught by professional Artist-Instructors.
The Arts Half-Day Program has received many awards, including “Best Arts Magnet School” by the Arts Schools Network and “School of Distinction” by Magnet Schools of America. We are especially proud to be named the "2023 Outstanding Arts School" by the Arts Schools Network.
