A well-known hip hop duo brought in some young local talent. Black Violin, is a hip hop group from Florida that consists of two classically trained musicians Kev Marcus (violin) and Wil B (viola). On Wednesday, October 24, a group of string students from the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, joined students from other local high schools on the Mortesen Hall stage to perform alongside the group. The students were all chosen per recommendation from their teachers due to the difficulty level of the music. After spending considerable time practicing, the groups spent the evening before rehearsing together at the Bushnell. The students from the Academy were Christine Darr, Angelina Paulus, Sammy Wetstein, Holly Shine.
