The Design & Production major is intended for students with a sincere desire to explore the skills and techniques that support live theater, dance, and music performance. Curriculum consists of coursework focused on the design and construction of scenery and costumes and includes classes in lighting and sound design and implementation. Foundation classes in stage management, art history, theater history, visual arts, properties, scenic art and script analysis are also part of the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to participate in Arts Academy productions in leadership roles such as designers, stage managers, board operators, and stagehands.
