Three students from The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half Day are performers in this summer’s Hartford Stage’s production of Breakdancing Shakespeare. Every summer, the Greater Hartford Arts Council selects high school students within the region to spend a six week period rehearsing, taking master classes as well as learn interviewing, networking, and resume skills. Academy Students taking part are Saige Hollis, playing the role of Hermia, Anaya Tolton (Peasblossom), and Mark Truscio (Quince.)

According to Hartford Stage’s website, Breakdancing Shakespeare puts a modern twist on classic Shakespearian plays adding youth and modern hip hop. This year’s production is “A Midsummers Dream.” It is performing August 1,2, and 3 at Hartford Stage.
