Dancers from The Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half-Day Program joined renowned choreographer Jennifer Weber in a film project produced by The Bushnell. Written as a “love letter to the Bushnell,” the piece titled While You Were Gone celebrates a welcome back to live performance after 19 months of theaters being shuttered due to the pandemic. The piece premiered on the Bushnell’s YouTube page on September 20, 2021.

Jennifer Weber has a long standing relationship with the Academy having choreographed pieces for Choreographers’ Showcase in both 2013 and 2015. Dance majors were joined by other young dancers from Studio 860 owned and directed by alumna Jolet Creary ’99. Jolet will be returning to the Academy again this fall as a choreographer for this year’s Choreographers’ Showcase on Saturday, October 23rd.
