On a browser, go to http://classroom.google.com.

Google ClassroomOn a mobile device, you can download Google Classroom from the App Store or Google Play.

Login with your Academy login. Your username and password  will be the first 3 letters of your name a dot, and your last name. For example, John Doe will be [email protected]

Your Password is  ghaa+student id. For example if my student id is 1234, my password would be ghaa1234.  Be certain you are using the student ID for the Academy. If you need to have it looked up, e-mail [email protected] 
Login BrowserOn a Browser, in the upper right corner, make sure you are data is synced into the proper Google account. To do that, click on the user icon, and select “sign out.”





Mobile LoginOn the mobile app, you will be prompted on start-up if you want to use a different account.

class codeOnce you are logged in, you should see the classes that your artist instructors have invited to join, if so, just click join and you are now enrolled in the class.

If you do not see the class, just enter the class code. If you don't have a class code, contact your dept. chair or artist instructor via e-mail and they will get it for you.


Tabs

Once you are in the class, you will see three tabs ( on the top for browsers and bottom for mobile devices.)

 

Stream – messages from your artists instructors, updates on assignments, and posts from other students. Make sure you check here as this is where all your class updates will be listed.

Classwork – This is a list of your class work and learning materials including links to videos, documents, and videos.

People – Everyone in the class.

Here you will find lecture materials, assignments, and quizzes.

Assignments that you have to turn in are purple.

Learning materials to read and completed assignments are grey.

This is also where links to your Zoom meetings will be.

Turning In Assignments

Turn InSome assignments will ask you to put your work on a instructor created document. Just fill it out according to instructions and click “Turn In.” At this point, the instructor should have it.


Turn In LinksOther assignments will require you send in something, including possibly a video or web submission or google doc of your own. There will be a place to attach these. Again, when you are done, select “Turn In”

The following directions are how you create a video assignment and turn it in. These directions are from an Android device however; the process should be similar on iPhone.

1. Shoot VideoShoot your video. When you are done, open your video and click "Share."

Share Video2. You’ll see multiple options. Click "YouTube."

3.A dialog box will appear. Title your video. If there is a title format your instructor wants, do it here.

Make sure you make the video "Unlisted." This makes it so that it can not be searched by the general public. Only those who have the link can see the video.

Get Link4. After the video is uploaded, click share and copy the link.

Turning In5. Go to your Google Classroom App. Open your assignment, click "Add Attachment." Select “Link.” Hold your finger on the screen and the option to paste will appear. Here you will paste the link.

First, go to https://zoom.us/download to download Zoom. It is available on all formats.

For mobile users, you can go to the Play Store or App Store.

Classwork MeetingIf your class has a scheduled Zoom meeting, they will be posted in Google Classroom as either an assignment or an announcement. Make sure you check the stream. A link will be provided. Be certain to go use the meeting code that is provided.
