A GHAA Half Day Alumnus had been recognized as “Best Featured Actress” in a drama by the Orlando Sentinel. The paper honored Class of 2016 theater major Allie Furlong for her roles as a high school student in “John Proctor Is the Villain” and Deirdre in “The Humans.” Orlando theater critic Mathew J. Palm, remarked on how Furlong’s performance portrayed her characters in a way that brought empathy from the audience. “When Dierdre’s feelings were hurt, your heart broke for her.“

Furlong is just one of several actors in the Orlando area whom Palm notes as elevating the art of theater for Central Florida audiences.
